SOS! (Summer Opportunities for Students)

The Student Conservation Association (SCA) offers a program where crew members spend a month on a conservation project working on and conserving public lands.  They complete such projects as building trails, shelters and bridges, restoring habitats and maintaining historic sites.

Loyola University in Chicago sponsors a Pre-Collegiate Summer Scholars Program which is designed to give motivated sophomores and juniors a head start on their college careers. In addition to earning college credit, students become acquainted with actual college life, academia and campus social activities.

The Junior Statesmen Foundation of Georgetown University, Princeton, Stanford and Yale, offers summer programs geared to leadership and learning about the American political system and state and local government.
Sessions begin in June and run through July/August.
Courses offered include AP Govt/Politics, AP Macroeconomics, AP US History, Political Communication and International Relations, to name a few.
