Thanksgiving Meal for the Homeless

The 3-plus decade old tradition of preparing and serving meals for the less fortunate continues Sunday, November 19.  THANK YOU to all of the families who have offered assistance through the donation of either food or time.  Without you this could not be possible.  Your generosity is a gift to so many.

Non-perishable food donations:  If you have offered to supply uncooked food, canned food, paper goods, decorations or drinks, your items can be dropped off at the main campus on Friday, November 17.  It can be taken directly to the main office and it will be taken over to the S building as it arrives.  If you have too many items to bring up to the office, please call the main office at (562) 435-4496 and we can arrange to have the gate open to drive them on campus.  If you are bringing goods AND volunteering time on Sunday in the early morning (7:30-9:30), you can bring them with you Sunday.

Turkeys and hams:  All prepared meats need to be delivered in the 8AM hour Sunday.  You can deliver them in 2 ways.  If you are staying to help, drive them on to the campus through the 7th street gate by the armory.  If you are just dropping meats off, you can drive them in to the alley between the campus and armory.  There is a gate in the alley where students will be receiving the food.  That will make for a quick drop-off and allow you to avoid the chaos on campus.

Parking:  Volunteers can park in the church parking lot by the gym.  There will be limited parking in the courtyard on a first come-first served basis.  Once the courtyard is full, we will close the gate.  If you see the gate closed, proceed to the gym parking lot.
