Digital Music Production is an introductory course focusing on creating music electronically. Students will learn principles of original sound production and recording instruments/vocals, emphasizing proper mixing techniques for original music creation. The course introduces computing concepts, techniques, and terminology through music applications, with hands-on experience using GarageBand and Logic software. Students will develop practical skills applicable to careers in music performance, entertainment, recording, audio engineering, and more, gaining proficiency in music sequencing, synthesis, and live sound. Additionally, the course covers music fundamentals, notation, history, culture, theory, MIDI, digital recording, and basic music industry business practices.
