Expected School Wide-learning Expectations (ESLRs) as applied to the Fine Arts Department:

Spiritually Enriched
Fine Arts students will be faith centered in all their studies of both visual and performing arts. Students will begin every Fine Art class with prayer. All Fine Arts students will study/analyze/observe artistic works (be it visual or performance) that make spiritual connections to the Catholic faith.

Academically Ready
Fine Arts students will be academically prepared to discussion and participate in the artistic experience. Through lecture, performance, and active engagement students will learn to be functional communicators in their artistic field.

Intellectually Equipped
Fine Arts students will be able to analyze artistic works (be it visual or performance) and assess the artistic, spiritual, emotion, historical, and intellectual value of these works. Students will able to initiate original thoughts and ideas to be used as artistic assessment and criticism.

Naturally Expressive
Fine Arts students will develop an appreciation of the artistic world. Student’s appreciation and knowledge base will built through active engagement in the artistic experience.  Students will be able to communicate their thoughts through artistic medium of their choosing. Student’s artistic contributions will contribute aesthetically to the St. Anthony High School Experience.

Technologically Prepared
Fine Arts students will develop a technological fluency through exploration of the technology based artistic mediums. All Fine Arts students will able to use technology to research, discuss, and participated in the artistic experience.

Socially Conscious
Fine Arts students will develop a sense of cultural appreciation by studying and experiencing artistic works from a wide variety of cultures. Students will be able to appreciate cultural differences in the artistic world by studying exploring the cultural context in which an artistic work was created. Students will be open and tolerant to works that they may not consider aesthetically pleasing.
