Girls Volleyball Heads Into CIF Playoffs/For Directions CLICK HERE

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Volleyball Team for earning a spot in the CIF Division IVA Playoffs. The Lady Saints will travel to Bishop Conaty-Loretto for their first round game. The game is scheduled for Tuesday November 11 at 7pm. Come on out to support the Lady Saints Volleyball program. C

Career Session with Freshman Held this Week

Undecided freshman met with their college counselor this week to discuss career choices. Topics covered included salary, hours, job descriptions, and work stress. At the beginning of the year these students left a blank space when asked to list thier career interests. By the end the session this week every student listed at least two choices; one student went so far as to list over twenty careers before the session was over.

AP Annual Forum Houston

This week three of our St. Anthony colleagues are enjoying the sunny Houston climate while attending the AP Annual Forum. Every year professionals come from all over the world to attend this conference to engage in discussion and collaboration in order to tackle critical issues that are challenging today's educators. The conference consists of workshops, plenary, and task force sessions led by professonals such as noted essayist and writer Richard Rodriguez; university provost's, presidents, and chancellors; university admissions directors, television personalities such as Bob Costas, and the College Board.

SA Students Elect Obama with 75% Vote in Mock Election

Results are in from a mock election held on campus yesterday. SA students, guests, and faculty elected Barack Obama as their candidate of choice with 75% of the vote. Students stood in line at the library during break and lunch to submit their ballot and make their voices heard!

President's Ambassadors in News

President's Ambassadors were in Daily Breeze newspaper last week. The group was highlighted volunteering for Operation Teddy Bear. This year a much greater emphasis has been placed on community service for the ambassadors. The service coordinator, Frank Hurtado, organizes all service opportunities which so far have included volunteering at Long Beach Rescue Mission, Operation Teddy Bear and in December the group is looking to volunteer at a half-way shelter.
