AP Annual Forum Houston

This week three of our St. Anthony colleagues are enjoying the sunny Houston climate while attending the AP Annual Forum. Every year professionals come from all over the world to attend this conference to engage in discussion and collaboration in order to tackle critical issues that are challenging today's educators. The conference consists of workshops, plenary, and task force sessions led by professonals such as noted essayist and writer Richard Rodriguez; university provost's, presidents, and chancellors; university admissions directors, television personalities such as Bob Costas, and the College Board.

SA Students Elect Obama with 75% Vote in Mock Election

Results are in from a mock election held on campus yesterday. SA students, guests, and faculty elected Barack Obama as their candidate of choice with 75% of the vote. Students stood in line at the library during break and lunch to submit their ballot and make their voices heard!

President's Ambassadors in News

President's Ambassadors were in Daily Breeze newspaper last week. The group was highlighted volunteering for Operation Teddy Bear. This year a much greater emphasis has been placed on community service for the ambassadors. The service coordinator, Frank Hurtado, organizes all service opportunities which so far have included volunteering at Long Beach Rescue Mission, Operation Teddy Bear and in December the group is looking to volunteer at a half-way shelter.

Thanksgiving Senior Dinner

Our annual Thanksgiving Senior Dinner is right around the corner and we are in need of volunteers and donations!!! Please be sure to let the school know if you can help us out!!! You can contact the front office for a list of items that are needed. Thank you!!!

eBay Sellers Needed for Library Project

Need parent services hours? The school library is now seeking any parent who sells items on eBay. We are in the process of downsizing our book collection in the library, and we need help with some valuable items. To get more details call the librarian at extension 1228.

Pre-law and Pre-med Sessions Held in October

This October freshman students met with their college counselor to discuss professions in law and medicine. The pre-med and pre-law topics covered included specialties, workplace varieties, and preparation today for the future.
