Athletic Hall of Fame Announced

Long Beach, CA -- St. Anthony High School takes great pride in announcing the selection of seven new inductees into its Athletic Hall of Fame. These individuals - legendary athletes and coaches - will be honored at a gala event hosted November 17, 2018, at The Reef on the Water Restaurant in Long Beach.
 
"St. Anthony High School has a long and storied history as Long Beach's only Catholic high school, well known within our city and beyond. The 2018 Athletic Hall of Fame provides a unique opportunity for the Saints Community to celebrate 98 years of educational excellence as we honor these Legendary Saints and our rich athletic tradition," states high school President Gina Rushing Maguire (Class of 1967).
 
The following outstanding athletes and coaches have been chosen by the Selection Committee as honorees at this event: David Adlesh (Class of 1962), Major League Baseball Player; Cormac Carney (Class of 1977), two time All-American football player at UCLA; LaTima Jones (Class of 1990), All-American Track and Field athlete at the University of Southern California; Walter "Spud" O'Neil (Class of 1965), Legendary High School Baseball Coach; Walter Osgood (Class of 1958), All-American Baseball Player at the University of Notre Dame; Pauline "Polly" Pope, Legendary High School Girls Volleyball Coach; and Manu Tuiasosopo (Class of 1975), Football player at UCLA, NFL First Round Selection, and Super Bowl Champion with the San Francisco 49ers.
 
November 17th promises to be an evening to remember, with all proceeds to benefit the renovation of St. Anthony High School's athletic facilities.
