Religious Education talks choices

11th grade recently completed a research and writing assignment for their course in Morality. Students were given a choice between twelve topics of ethical and moral alternatives, from the “Trolley Problem” through the 1919 Chicago White Sox. The class researched the scenario, discussed the moral issues involved, applied the doctrine of the Catholic Church and teachings of Christianity and then examine the fitness of each choice. The problem involved developing research, wiring, and critical thinking skills.
Library time, computer time and Bible time each received their fair share of effort. By applying textbook examples to actual life situations, St. Anthony students are able to see the challenges of choice.
