Tears, forgiveness, laughter, snow, sun, falling, and working.... just about everything was experienced on this year's Senior Kairos retreat. Kairos, coming from the Greek work meaning "right or opportune moment" or "time" refers to the "time in between," or, a moment of an undetermined period of time in which "something" special happens.
The 7 retreat leaders,
whom experienced the retreat
with last year's senior class,
had different speeches about
personal struggles. Even some
of the retreatants shared their
struggles.
Like many retreats, the first
day started off slow, but by
the end of the night, things
began to fall into place as many
of the retreatants began to open
up. By the second night up at
Camp Oaks of Big Bear, the
snow had fallen, covering the
ground in up to 4 inches of fresh
powdery snow. The snow was
accompanied by the reading of
letters, which thanks to all of
you, made the senior's retreat
well worth the wait. Your encouragement
and support was
greatly appreciated.
These three days proved to be
quite an experience, not only in
destination, but in friendships as
well. Many got to know a little
more about their classmates,
especially those
who rarely open their
mouths, let alone their
lives. A new boundary
was breached while at
Big Bear, one that will
not soon be forgotten.
Hopefully, they all had a "special moment," whether with themselves, or with God.
Remember to
continue to LIVE THE
FOURTH!!!
