St. Anthony SAINT Football

The boys from the 1948 CIF Champion Saints (Coach Grenier, HB John Peterson, HB Dean O'Hare, RB John Olszewski, and QB Bill Mais) are ready to cheer the 2006 Team to VICTORY - Join them by attending all 11 games!
St. Anthony College Preparatory High School has a storied past and a very bright future with Athletic Director and Alum Brian Walsh at the helm.
Our past goes back to the late 1940's when the likes of Olszewski, Mais, Peterson, and O'Hare dominated Southern California High School football winning the CIF Championship in 1948. The entire backfield went on to Cal to continue their teamwork in the then Pac-8 Conference. John "Johnny O" Olszewski went on to a 10 year career in the NFL. The late 50's brought another soon to be pro and future Irish (yes, that's Notre Dame) Hall of Famer Jack Snow to the St. Anthony Campus. Fast forward to the mid-70's and the Saint defense featured Manu Tuiasosopo. Manu (or Manny as he was known back then) went on
to graduate from UCLA and then had an eight year career playing for the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers. Manu retired after winning the Superbowl in 1986 with the 49ers. The picture to the left shows Manu sacking Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino in Superbowl XIX.
Who will be the next Saint to go onto play college and professional football? It could be any of our young men. More importantly, who has the discipline to succeed not only football, but in life? St. Anthony College Preparatory High School is all about preparing our students for their adult lives. While athletics are an important part of the school curriculum, building the whole person is the ultimate goal here at St. Anthony.
The team and Coach Walsh ask you, your family, and friends to come out and support us at all of our home and away games. Our home games are played at nearby Clark Field - Make an evening of it and travel to our away games as well.
