Darrick Martin - Class of 1988.
As a senior here at St. Anthony College Prep, the 5’ 11’ Darrick Martin was a 1988 Parade Magazine First-Team All-American and named to the McDonald's High School All-American team.

By 1992, Darrick Martin owned the all-time UCLA assists and steals records
After Derrick graduated in June 1988, he received a full scholarship from UCLA and played on a Bruins squad with future NBA players Don MacLean, Tracy Murray and Mitchell Butler. As a quick point guard, he completed his college career at UCLA in 1992 ranked first in school history in both assists (636) and steals (179). His career assists total placed him fourth on the Pacific Ten Conference's all-time list. Darrick averaged 9.3 points and 4.9 assists in his four years at UCLA. As a junior, he averaged a career-high 11.6 points and 6.8 assists, and his assists average was the best in the Pac-10 and the 16th highest in the country. His single-season high of 217 assists was second all-time at UCLA to Jerome "Pooh" Richardson's 236.
Undrafted out of UCLA, Darrick toured with Magic Johnson’s All-Stars from 1992-1994 and then signed with the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) in 1994. He joined the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1995 starting with two 10 day contracts. The Vancouver Grizzles signed Martin for the 1995-1996 season but they traded him back to the Timberwolves in late 1995.
He played with the LA Clippers from 1996 to 1999, and the Sacramento Kings in 2000 and 2001. While with the Kings on March 6, 2000 Martin came off the bench to score 11 points in just two minutes in a game against the Dallas Mavericks.
Darrick went back to the CBA in 2002, playing for the Yakima Sun Kings of the CBA and the Skyforce. Darrick also played for the famed Harlem Globetrotters in the spring of 2003, returning to the Yakima Sun Kings in the fall of 2003 and won the CBA Title with them and was named the playoffs MVP.
Darrick is currently playing with the Toronto Raptors where he is not only a valued substitute but also a mentor for the numerous young Raptors on the team.
Darrick also hosts the Darrick Martin Basketball Day Camp at the Jack Errion Memorial Gymnasium on the St. Anthony College Prep campus.

Darrick Martin Speeks to Graduating Class of 2008
The Class of 2008held its commencement on Saturday May 31st and the graduation speaker was none other than Class of '88 graduate and 13 year NBA veteran Darrick Martin. Martin will no doubt challenge the graduating seniors as they take their next steps in life. After graduating Martin went on to play four years for the UCLA Bruins and was signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1995.
