The President's Scholars Program
The President's Scholar program at St. Anthony College Preparatory High School was launched in 2005 and has been modeled after the very successful President's Scholars program put in place by then President Robert C. Maxson at California State University, Long Beach to attract the very best high school seniors to the school. The St. Anthony program has been very successful at bringing the top 8th graders from the Long Beach, South Bay, and western Orange County to our college preparatory environment.
The President's Scholar program provides a FULL TUITION SCHOLARSHIP FOR ALL FOUR YEARS of study at Long Beach St. Anthony College Prep. This prestigious scholarship is offered to students who apply and demonstrate that they are the TOP (“valedictorian”) student in their 8th grade graduating class. This is not the top student applying to St. Anthony, but the top student in the entire class.
President’s Scholar recipients must be recommended by their elementary school principal or 8th grade
teacher and agree to maintain at least a “B” average, as well as contribute positively to campus life.
Scholarship recipients are responsible for additional fees, beyond tuition, and parents must fulfill
fundraising and service hour requirements each year.
Interested applicants for the President’s Scholars Program must apply through the Admissions Office and
coordinate application with their school principal and 8th grade teacher. There are a very limited number of
President’s Scholarships available and this award is a competitive process. Early application is encouraged.
