FRL 102 Spanish 1A, B
Grade: 9, 10 One year; meets CSU/UC “e” requirement
This is an introductory course in Spanish which includes elementary grammar principles and basic vocabulary. Strong emphasis will be placed on the development of reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. In addition, an overview of the culture of Spanish-speaking countries will be introduced.
FRL 202 Spanish 2A, B
Grade: 9, 10, 11 One year; meets CSU/UC “e” requirement
Prerequisite: A grade of C or higher in Spanish 1.
This course continues the concepts presented in Spanish I. Increased emphasis will be placed on basic grammar, vocabulary, and the development of communicative competence in both the written and spoken language. Study of the culture of Spanish-speaking countries will continue.
FRL 302 Spanish 3A, B
Grade: 10, 11, 12 One year; meets CSU/UC “e” requirement
Prerequisite: A grade of C or higher in Spanish 2.
This course begins with a review of all the basic grammar, vocabulary, and structure of the written and spoken language. This course will introduce more sophisticated structures and continue with the development of both the written and spoken language. A thematic approach to Spanish and Latin American cultures is included in the course of study.
